Likely worked better before computers. Too bad you don't have a drop the other side of the line. UPS seems to dream up charges when delivering in Canada. If they charge brokerage fees, you might be able to contest it as brokerage fees are paid on commercial items ie. for re-sale. and should not be charged on items for personal use.
Good luck though..

it's not just Canada. Anytime a package gets thrown over our border wall it seems to become a big problem

I've never had a problem with USPS (touch wood). In fact I just had some stuff for my boat get here from the eastern US in 10 days. No fuss, no muss. Way better than UPS!!!

Woops I didn't look closely enough, you were talking about the postal service...me goofed.
I did get a quote to mail 2 shims and a clutch cable from eastern US for $40.00. Order was less than the mail...
Got it from Edmonton.

Yes that happens. No custom charges if the parts were made in Mexico or the States,(free trade  ) but I guess "Fiat Parts" Italian origin and we get nicked. Buy a custom header or after market stuff, and you should not be charged.
When picking up at the post office I still get nicked the sales taxes regardless.

When I got off of active duty from the navy back in the early 80's and I shipped my stuff home from the ship, I still got whacked at customs because it came from overseas, even thought I had purchased the stuff(my stereo equip) here in the states. Post office customs agent didn't want to hear it that I was just off active duty in the Indian Ocean and that there was no way I was " importing". Ended up paying $75.00 just to get my own stuff back

spoke with my boys and they have sent the missing parts  To clarify the parts are always labelled "Antique Auto Parts" as well all Made in USA so in my case I blame the Customs bastards  It is hit or miss with them (mostly miss). Either way getting me some new parts. Ironically we got a crap load of snow so I would not have been able to take Fiona for a test drive anyway
