Congrats on your find, Craig. I still hate you, but you'll enjoy the heck out of that car. For the track, they are just powerful enough and the handling is great. It really is a well balanced car. I did my SCCA driving class in one and I loved it. Now, if I could just get my X19 ready for the track, I'll let you lap me.

I'd rather see you thrash the crud out of Miata than a Spider. I've driven a Maita and it wasn't bad. I found it rather cramped inside, but a reasonably balanced car. Of course, I was test driving it for my daughter.

Its funny,I always called the Miata a ''girls car''.Even after watching them dominate production SCCA classes and the most popular road racing series in the country,Spec Miata. My opinion changed after trying to catch the little bastards in Lemons racing. My turning point came when I won a day at Skip Barber racing.I did all the training in a Miata(all of their school cars are Miatas). Then I got to go on track in a full race Spec Miata. It was awesome.I have never been in a car with that much braking power, and cornering prowess.I started to look at them in a whole new light.
I thought the car I bought was ready to go on track.I have found out that the roll hoops are not recognized for most track groups around me(the p/o had no issue in his region?).So...it appears I will have to buy a 'real' roll bar for the car.
I seem to have roll bar issues

Thanks Abey.It is a fun ride.I am in negotiation for a track legal roll bar,as the chrome hoops wont pass tech inspection.Then...I can hit the track!

The Dark Side isn't so dark! Next to Fiat I have been a long time Mazda fan as they build cars for drivers that are affordable. We have had several. A 626, an MPV, and the two we have now are a Mazda6S and an RX-8. I have been trying to trade the RX-8 in on a 500 Abarth but I can't pry it away from Holly!

That is a very nice Miata Craig, someone put a lot of extra into it. Should be a lot of fun.

Hi Craig,
The great white north is getting whiter yet again today! Seems all we do is dig, plow, and keep the wood stove fed. I don't know what that groundhog was doing about it's shadow but nothing I can see looks like an early spring. I got a chuckle seeing the pictures of your garage. It is starlingly similar to mine. Now I realize how far over the edge I have already gone... :D

You measure weather in degrees while we have to measure it in feet and inches.

Ah yes, my husband just came home from Miami as red as a lobster. I think the greatest shock was when he came off the plane into 24 degree weather.
