You are kind of reinforcing what I already thought. The SoCal chapter is fairly new and has 40+ members.Since I had not really heard much about it until recently,I wanted to guage for myself how many are vintage owners as compared to new 500 owners.

former member here, it's a very disjointed, inactive group. Somehow, a new president was "appointed" by national FLU and he has transformed it into a "for profit" club

Yeah, what Mark said. Several of us were trying to get something going 3 years ago, next thing I know I'm getting solicited by someone in San Diego who says he's the president. Just let my membership lapse after that.

when Sean contacted me and said he was the new president, I asked him how that came about. He told me FLU national had given him the post since the chapter wasn't active. This was news to me. I didn't realize national had that ability when So Cal FLU had a bod in place.
This issue aside, it appears to me that new 500 owners pretty much want their own clubs. There are at least 3 clubs and maybe more in So Cal based on the 500. Mostly they don't have any interest in the older models.

Just out of curiosity, does FLU have interest in the new Dodge Dart? Since it's supposedly a rebadged Alfa and can be equipped with the Fiat Multi air motor, does it fit?

Im not sure ,Mark. We have always welcomed any Italian cars at FFO,not sure if the Dart would meet that criteria or not.We always have Alfa and Ferraris attend, though.
I agree re. the 500 owners. With the exception of vintage owners who have purchased them, they have very little interest in our issues.
