Spotted this on Hartford CT Craigslist - Wants $25K:

Looks very sharp. Aggressive pricing. Wonder if its someone on this board.
I doubt Craigslist is the right venue for this car. Ebay or a big auction might get better results.

You would think that at that price, there would be at least one picture of the engine compartment.

Yeah, good point.ronarthur wrote:You would think that at that price, there would be at least one picture of the engine compartment.
I'm constantly amazed with the folks on Craigslist and Ebay, for example, that haven't a clue to even the most basic, obvious, marketing 101.
I mean, if you really want to sell your Spider for $25K you might want to spend a few hours taking pictures, and not with a telephone. And take a little time to to tell me why I'd want to buy this car too.
And I love the ads that tell me not to waste the guy's time, and no tire kickers either. Hey, get in line, take a number.

Car does look good. I suppose for more pics, one could ask for engine shots under car ect. Yes on ebay I've seen must be upwards of 50 pics from every angle,helps...sure.
Remember not long ago an early car went for $40,000.00 or more at auction. perhaps someone will bite for the low milage car. Another 10 grand and you are starting into the Volumex territory, more like what I'd be going for if I had the loot

Not sure about Hartford, but Fiats on Boston's Craigslist sit around for months to sometimes years at $4,000 (There's an 850 up for $5500 that has been reposted for about 2 years now). It's nicer than most - so at $4000 it might go faster than a year - but he could be waiting a long time to sell it at that price. For significantly less than that you can get a C5 Corvette.

Looks clean but I also question why with only 19,000 miles that it has replacement carpets and a replacement console (or console cap). The dash looks like a replacement or a cap but I can't tell for sure since there are no close-ups. I would expect more pics of the engine and undercarriage as well.

FWIW both the exterior mirror and the tenth digit on the odometer shows that this is a '80, not a '81.
A '81 would have 6 mile digits and no tenths, so it would show the true mileage.
