It's been almost a month since I got my top boot and no answer from VickAuto about how to install. I mean, nice product even if a bit pricy. But their support isn't what I've read in the forum. No answer from them... So I need help to be sure of what I need to do. Here's what my top boot should look like installed :
Here's the hook and where to attach it :
And where it should go UNDER the top boot :
But how it is supposed to #1 go through the layers and #2 STAY there? :
Even if I cut an opening, it risk to tear off without seewing to stop it to growth and the bracket will allways be an hazard to the paint. I can't beleive I paid 500$ (350$ plus shipping and customs) for an unfinished product... Anyone else having these troubles or has an answer to it?

Re: Top Boot
I've forgot to finish this post last summer. I finaly go some answers but not he ones I wanted. And that was after writing them that I was posting on this forum. I have to cut myself the holes for the brackets.
I have to bond the sheets with upholstery glue, not what I had in mind with a quality kit. I prefer stitches to glue... They will provide glue and instruction for ... future kits. Yeeaahh!!
So here's my impressions on all this :
Communication : 6.5/10
Quality : 8/10
Ease of installation : 7.5/10
Price : 7/10
Will I do it again? Yes. So, it's not that bad.

Re: Top Boot
Thats a rippoff if you ask me. Last one I had made at an upholstery shop with an old one as a pattern. I think it cost me 60 bucks. That kind of money it should be ready to install !

'83-'85 model are different from earliers. So, if your parts are different from the ones on the picture, yes, it will fit '81 model.

Re: Top Boot
The hardware is totally different on mine. So I guess it will fit a 79 or 81. When I get home I will get the picks sent.
