Based on the prototype Abarth 030, the Montecarlo was known as the X1/8 (later the X1/20) while in development, and was intended to be a Fiat-branded 'big brother' to the Fiat X1/9. It had a similar mid-engined layout, with a larger engine and roomier interior. The car was passed to Lancia, and was constructed by Pininfarina, the original design company, in Turin, Italy

garage cleanout this weekend, put up , clean up, move out, make room. going to sand and prime the chassis this coming week.
also have to find a compressor on craigslist, need a 80 gal 2 stage.

ok time to track expenditures. 554.00 for primer, reducer, cleanup thinner, 2 qts of por 15, 1 qt ospho. 2 rolls sandpaper, 1 sleeve of tape and roll of paper. let the sanding begin.... ill include photo's and updates sunday evening when im done

thanks. time is my enemy at this moment. i have decided to open a machine shop. at this time i will be rebuilding cylinder heads mostly. as soon as i can afford a boring bar then ill start rebuilding bottom ends. granted i build them now, just have to sublet the machine work. i discovered that there was no one in south lake county, fl. where i live that can rebuild heads or surface flywheels. so after discovering the need i decided to fill it. once up and running ill post pictures. but i have already bought all the valve and seat equipment i need anda van norman rotary broach for surfacing.

machine shop up and running, moved the scorpion into the bay so while im not doing anything i can begin work on it. business is very slow right now as no one knows im here. i have been out beating the bushes trying to drum up business.
i have a few fiat heads im doing for people and a transmission i just built for myself. so th scorpion project will now happen. i will take pictures as soon as something happens worth photographing

Recently I put an ad in the local paper regarding my custom cutting timbers. Covered about 170,000 people and picked up numerous new customers. Ad was about $500.00 for 20 issues and was double bus. card size. First new customer gave me an $3500.00 order :

test fit the basic engine assembly into the chassis friday. amazing how large the engine bay in the scorpion is. ordering steel monday to fab the mounting brackets. pictures to follow
