Checked the EGR valve today and sure enough, it's plugged. I took the time out to make a better plug for it since the old one was made out of foil.
After all the work I've done, still seems like I've got a bit of a misfire problem. I changed the plugs and the wire. Did a compression check. I check the distributor cap, rotor and points and they seemed to be in good shape. I also hooked up a timing light and adjusted the timing. Still keep getting a misfire...
Hooked up a vacuum gauge. Vacuum seems to be good but the needle fluctuates rapidly at about 1 in pressure. My research on the internet tells me that this is a possible ignition problem. I have my doubts about that since everything seems to be working fine. I though maybe the valves need to be adjusted but this engine requires a special tool and shims to adjust the valves. I ordered some gaskets and as soon as the come in I'll check the valves.

I would run a compression check on the cylinders and report back with your readings.
