Does anyone know where I can get a tool like this to hold the camshafts while changing a timing belt? I know I can do this without it but for a rookie this seems like a good idea.

Re: Timing belt tool
that tool is a great piece for a museum... it is not needed for the installation of the timing belt, the cams will stay in place, and even if they move you can just move them back

Re: Timing belt tool
They don't exist. They made one for that picture, and then it was destroyed right away
Seriously, I have never seen one. You don't need one, nobody else has ever used one either.
Just be sure to turn the engine over 2 revolutions BY HAND (or ratchet) before you start it up.

Re: Timing belt tool
i actually own a tool like that but have never used it. nice to see it hanging on the wall of my workshop.
Re: Timing belt tool
I also have one, Fiat part # A.60319 Tool, locking timing sprockets while changing belt. As listed in Fiat 124 Sport Coupe- Spider, 1973/74 USA Versions, Specifications and Data manual. This manual has all the specs and data you might want for the 1973 1600 or 1974 1800.
Re: Timing belt tool
I got it sorted by just changing it and marking per a different manual. Thanks for all the replies.

Re: Timing belt tool
If you do have a tool, could you take a photo overlaid on some graph paper and provide rough dimensions? I would like to try and see if I could make one. Thanks!
