Down Under Temperature
Down Under Temperature
Well my friends "Up Over" who are no doubt huddling around a fireplace trying to stay warm - today reached 107 degrees here (or 42 degrees Celsius).

Re: Down Under Temperature
Quite the opposite of here in North Idaho (100 miles south of Canada) we topped out at a high of 30, very sunny but still below freezing.
Looks like maybe get above the freeze sometime this weekend for the first time in a few weeks.
Hopefully it ends like last year, very quickly, had my girl out for the first time on the 7th of March last year, roads clear, temps in the 50's, still a little snow hanging around but got out on the road for a couple days anyhow.
Now if I could just send you a little of mine & you send me a little of your to even it out we could both drive our cars year round....if only!
Hope your enjoying a COLD beverage to make life a little easier...cheers

Or maybe your winter is as 'hot' as my summer (20-25 degC)

Re: Down Under Temperature
Today in Sydney is suppose to be 40deg C, it's 35deg C now and that is hot enough for me....

Re: Down Under Temperature
In my part of Australia the winters do get a bit colder than that with an average of 13 degC with minimums around 6 degC. The heat at this time of the year is just a bit too much I have to say.wiggo wrote:Or maybe your winter is as 'hot' as my summer (20-25 degC)
I admire that you guys can cope with living in freezing snow conditions. It was a bit of an eye opener reading the stories of cars being put away in storage for the winter. It's just not something we have to cope with.
I guess that's the part of year called Spring! I'd take a whole year of that anytime. Thanks, I did enjoy a VERY COLD beverage yesterday thankyou. Now THAT'S something we can all enjoy all year round.DocGraphics wrote:Now if I could just send you a little of mine & you send me a little of your to even it out we could both drive our cars year round....if only!Hope your enjoying a COLD beverage to make life a little easier...cheers

Re: Down Under Temperature
Here in Texas 105 -115 deg f is not unusual. It gets so humid its hard to breath. I feel for all you down under having to endure the extreme heat. It got so so miserable last year I didn't even want to drive the Spider. Stay safe and don't take any unnecessary chances. Stay cool .

Re: Down Under Temperature
my wife just sent me a pick of the thermometer from the car and it says 45degC outside
I felt the souls of my shoes melting on the footpath (sidekwalk for the US) when I went out for lunch

Congratulations. I just read that Sydney has just set a new "hottest day on record" at 45.8C!divace73 wrote:my wife just sent me a pick of the thermometer from the car and it says 45degC outside

we've seen plenty of days close to that last summer over here in los angelesMartin124 wrote:Congratulations. I just read that Sydney has just set a new "hottest day on record" at 45.8C!divace73 wrote:my wife just sent me a pick of the thermometer from the car and it says 45degC outside
Re: Down Under Temperature
Good point Daniel. This conversation has made me realize that Aussie hot days are not necessarily hotter than what you guys get in the US or Canada. Our variations in temperature are nothing like you get either. Regularly 105 degrees in Texas?! That's exactly what I'm complaining about - without the humidity!Martin124 wrote:we've seen plenty of days close to that last summer over here in los angeles
If we have anything to boast about regarding our weather, it must be the lack of extremes.
I visited LA in January a few years back and found the weather just perfect. Seems like you guys might have the best of it!
