Drilling out bumpers and moving them in

Post by sierraspider »

I was going to drill out shocks on my tube bumpers and move them in, but I can't see how to get to the one's in the rear to drill them out. What am I missing here?

I remember reading up on old threads on the forum a while back and there were step by step instructions somewhere. I've had a quick look but haven't found it. Try a Forum Search using "bumper tuck", I'm pretty sure you'll find something.

Here's a link to Craig's post. If you scroll up you can see pics of Craig's car after the bumper tuck.

It wa very simple.I drilled 1/4'' holes in the bumper shocks(wear eye protection),and allowed all the fluid to drain overnight. Then I pushed them in
to where it looked good to me.When they were in position,I pinned them with self tapping screws.I didnt care for the look with the bumpers off and this was the next best, and by far least expensive fix

Sierraspider,
If you want to drive down to Ione, I will help you remove the bumpers in my driveway.
