picked up a 1982 Turbo car today
picked up a 1982 Turbo car today
I bought a Spider at an online auction and it was delivered today. Much to my surprise when it arrived today it had the Turbo decals on the lower fenders. Turns out it was an original Legend Turbo car, but the turbo has been removed and plain ol' FI has been installed. The car is pretty straight, still has the 14" wheels but needs some work. I'll get some pics tomorrow

I'm thinking I'll use it for the supercharger development car, but that could always change.

Congrats!
My '81 original owner car was a turbo as well (with 81K original miles), but came with most of the turbo parts in a box. I decided to keep it FI and just recently swapped out the turbo harness for a straight FI one. From what I have gathered since buying it in spring is that the engines were essentially the same with the bolt on turbos installed by Legend. The distributor was modified. Instead of having 2 springs, it had 1 and the other slot was occupied with a "limiter". The limiter was an oval clip that gave it more initial advance, but limited the full advance. My car ran much better once I replaced the limiter with a spring.
Supercharger? Tell me some more.
