To complete the job, you'll also need to change the speedo gear. Unfortunately, that means dropping the tranny a few inches, a substantial project. You could always get a miniature gearbox that splices into the speedo cable. This setup would allow you to make your speedo dead accurate with the wheels/tires of your choice. If my car didn't need a new clutch, for example, I'd go for the custom gearbox. http://www.speedometershop.com/ratio.html is one such manufacturer.

Wow, that's actually really cool. I would have never thought of a mini gearbox like that!
