Fiat on Pawn Stars

Post by FiatBen »

OK, so I'm settling in for the evening. TV happens to be on the History Channel and a new episode of Pawn Stars, "It's a Wonderful Pawn." They buy a nice WWII flight jacket and then a lady walks in and wants them to look at her Fiat Spider. Well, got my attention. Then she drives it into the lot. It is PINK. Even worse, it has EYELASHES. I'm SO embarassed as a Spider owner. Thank goodness she did say the eyelashes were removeable. Otherwise, the car is in pretty good shape. She thinks she can get $4000. Let's see what they "expert" they bring in has to say....

PINK with EYELASHES!! Sheesh! It's like a wreck, you can't just drive by, you have to stare for awhile....

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up. You know what they say, any exposure is good exposure. (But now I'm not so convinced).

Ha.. I saw that tonight.. The expert told them to pass, cause its not really worth anything, cause of the crappy pink paint job (tons of overspray).. They were looking to do a full restore from the sounds of it...

Interior was in decent shape, though I think I saw the dash was cracked (I only noticed cause I have the same issue, and I bought mine from near Vegas :) ).. Wonder if I'll see on craigslist in the near future..

I don't think you could give me that! I'd have to hide it in the barn till I stripped ALL that puke pink off!
WOW! That's why women should not pick out paint colors for cars! (just kidding)

Something Tammy-Fay would be seen driving...

Man, I can never underestimate what peoples tastes are... I guess the "people-of-Walmart" pics is a testament to that..

The car might be mechanically just fine though without rust and a paint strip, re-paint and new wheels and good to-go. Be interesting if it goes for more that $500.00

Well,
It could be a whole lot worse. Might be worth it at less than $1k. Body appears to be in good shape. No different than any other 78 fiat needing a paint job. Not my cup of tea though. Whoever invented those eyelashes should be jailed. Another stupid idea making someone rich that I didn't think of.

Did any one else notice that there was no air filter! I would love to have seats that nice in my car, though. Also, if you look closely I think the lashes are home made. Some black plastic held on by aluminum tape... Arrgh! Why couldn't it have been one of our nice ones in the national spotlight?
