special brake lines

Post by steve8462 »

do the Fiat Spiders use a different style brake line than you would normally get at the normal auto parts store?
i have to replace all the lines leading to my master cylinder and i took the master to the parts store to make sure i got the right thread pitch and i noticed that the original brake lines have more of a cone shape to the end of them. compared to the american lines which has a flared end much like a trumpet mouth piece. and when i tighten them down, they seem to bottom out before the line touches the master which leaves the line able to spin in the fitting.(i am only hand tightening them at the store)
any thoughts ?

I can confirm that they are indeed a bubble flare and metric, hoping to have a finished product this weekend
