Are we all insane?
Re: Are we all insane?
Well I'm no psychologist either but I sleep with one and by reverse osmoses I should be a psychologist by now. That being said we were all probably crazy long before we got bitten by the Spider. Owning the Spider is just a visual indicator of the larger disorder we all probably have. Owning and maintaining our Spiders just occupies the time and resources we would all utilize to do something else? It is most likely a very good idea that we all have Spiders to keep us busy and not focused on some other compulsive behavior . At least these objects can often get us were we want to go and some other sucker would probably buy it from us if we needed some lunch money or a refill on our meds People have stopped asking me why I have one, it could be the Jack Nicholson from "The Shinning" look I give them when they ask I guess but most are happy it would be difficult to hide a body in the trunk of it when I ask them if they would like to go for a ride

Re: Are we all insane?
I have been a creator of art of one kind or another since I was a little kid. I have come to the conclusion that each of us has a level of creativeness and beauty that we require in our lives to be fulfilled. That level and complexity is unique to each individual. Within this mind frame is the understanding, either conscious or unconscious that we are just stewards of artifacts and feel privileged to be in possession of such objects for however brief of a time.
We are surrounded with proof of these facts. look at the popularity and monetary value of auctions of any kind, from Barrett-Jackson and Antique Roadshow down to your local garage sale.
Some of us are driven to create art. Some are driven to own and maintain these objects. The rest are fine with just appreciating what they find as beautiful.
We are just a band of brothers who share an ifinity for these little Italian gadgets and see them as art. If we are crazy, then so is the rest of the world.

Hey Steve where is this? what a crazy path way oops I mean cool road to drive on lol
At first I thought to myself I'm completely sane at the beginning of this but after reading all of the symptoms and
behavior that comes with fiat ownership see all the patterns that you guys discribe and i'm wondering if i should seek
professional help

Re: Are we all insane?
professional help wouldn't do any good! because the suggested therapy is to find a hobby that relaxes you. which leads us back to working on the fiat spiders. are you starting to see the paradox? "crazy like a fox" i think is the clinical term!
as far as the picture, i think it was in the Ukraine somewhere.

Re: Are we all insane?
I havent posted much, but let me temper that with this,
Im 42 years old.
I would rather ride a mid 80's Honda three wheeler through the woods than my 4 year old 63 HP quad
I would rather run my 56 International 130 (equiv FarmAll super A) than my 2011 Kioti 30hp Diesel with bucket and hoe
I would rather sit on the front porch than in the house watching TV (when the weather is right)
I would rather pay a little more to deal with a respectful vendor or supplier than pay less and deal with large Corps.
Running this bumpy old Fiat around is more comfortable than my wifes 2012 Camaro Conv, because if it breaks, odds are I can fix it with my Leatherman and its not like anyone elses.
So yeah,.................................................................Im friggin nuts.
On a lighter note, I have a friend with a 1969 Subaru 360. So Im not that bad. Yet.
