How to spend a weekend

Post by spidernut »

I was surveying my left over parts and decided to remove the back seat and put in some rear speakers. Here's the rundown:
- Blaupunkt speakers: Free
- Speaker grilles: $6
- Particle board: Free
- Pine wood: Free
- Carpet: Free (leftovers from carpeting the car)
- Carpet glue: $5.45
- Stainless steel strips from a Jeep Grand Cherokee: $27.65 (cut to fit, polished out and installed)
- State environmental fee for buying parts from an auto dismantler (Only in California): $2.95 or so
- State sales tax: $2.80

There was plenty of room for 6x9s but they're 4x6s. I'm really amazed at how these little Blaupunkt speakers sound. Though I paid practically nothing for them at a wrecking yard in Japan, the price new is $89 a pair. I can see why! They're pretty amazing.
