Diference between the VW and the fiat 32/36 DFEV carburetors

Is there any difference between the VW and the fiat 32/36 DFEV carburetors? I mean, can I use the VW version on my 78 Spider?

depending which model 32/36 it is the throttle lever may be on the wrong side
