Yes, that is beautiful isn't it? Someone else had posted that pic a little while ago. It turns out that the car doesn't actually exist, it is a photo-shop job of a modern concept car. You can see that one in the earlier thread down the first page.

That is such a beautiful car, I do wish the folks at Fiat and PininFarina would take notice. I'd buy it today if it was available.

looks somewhat related to a Honda S2000, but pretty nice nevertheless. It would have to be fwd to fit into Fiats' existing platforms

And this is what amazes me about the talent on these forums - an "average person" designs something this awesome and the car makers are releasing awkward tubs like the Solstice.

FIAT - TAKE NOTICE!!! This design would be absolutely awesome. I would also care less if it was front wheel drive. I just want a car with some real style and the retro look of our Spiders. Of course, I also want the performance of a Ferrari for the price of a used Yugo with the reliability of a Honda. :)

How can Fiat not know that a modern, retro styled version of the 124 Spider would be a huge hit. Would be a perfect car to sit next to the Abarth 500 in the showroom.

According to Road & Track, Alfa is planning to bring the Spider back to the US in 2014 as a rear-drive model. Fiat could easily do a retro spider based on that platform. BTW The undoctored picture from the origianal post on this car is the 2014 Alfa. http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-cars ... meo-spider

I think the Saturn version was nicer. The grill on the Pontiac just reminds me too much of Josie and the Pussycats' car. I couldn't find the artwork on their car...but it is similar to Penelope Pitstop's car as pictured below.

I always thought the saturn version was off. It didnt quit look right to me with the angular adds like the lights and trim. To each his own though.

Just had to bring back this post because I ran across an article about the 2014 Jaguar F-Type Roadster. It looks remarkably like the doctored photo at the start of this thread. Maybe the designers at Jaguar are fans of the classic spider looks? :D

I like it. Would be nice to have a bit of room behind the seats though. I guess with todays push-button drop tops with gears and shrouds, a bench seems to be impossible today.
Where do you put the dog ( s)?

Yeah, I remember this from the last time it was posted. If it were a true car, I would already have my pre-order in. It is truly an awesome design in my opionion. And, since I am giving my opinions - I also think that the Sky and the Solstice are really cool cars too. I almost purchased one used but went with a convertible Mustang GT manual simply because it is just so freaking cool and sooooooooo fast. 8)
