First 'winter' coming up. Don't plan on driving the Spider in the summer. Of course, I live in Phoenix, AZ, so a car without AC is deadly in summer.

Early fall and late spring, its probably too hot during the day... That sun is way to hot.. But ohhh... Night driving with a convertible... That I look forward to...

Depending where you are in the valley, Flag or the rim are only an hour or two away. Just leave early enough in the morning. :D

My 1980 is a all year car! I work in Charlotte i have been warming it up good in the mornings thou due to our abnormal cold November !! This morning my fan did not turn on so after running for 20min it was overheating ... I have a spare fan and temp switch so we will see if that helps ?? My grounds are good so i know thats not it lol!! Great gas mileage and lots of people comment on it !! And i get to show off my new top!!

Where are you located Saleen? I'm south of Harrisburg and east of Mint Hill, technically in Concord. I would like to eventually get the Spider owners in the Charlotte area together for a small meet. (PM me) Keep an eye out for a metallic brown/black top/tan interior Spider with Turbo decals :)

What color is yours?

Hey I'm in the Charlotte area too! Currently in Lake Wylie but moving next month near South Park. I drive "The Mistress" any sunny day I can put the top down. I like your idea of a Charlotte area gathering. Let me know when and where. My new has has a big garage so I can finally start some of those projects that have been piling up.

PS: I saw another Spider Saturday on Hwy 51 near the Arboretum shopping center. It was in a not so unusual situation being loaded onto a flatbed tow truck. If the owner of a pretty little red Spider is out there, I hope your car is OK.

OK MrWampus, PM me so I don't have to do a crazy search to track everyone down.

Actually, I'm going to start a post called Charlotte's Web: Local Spiders. We'll post pictures of our cars and this way we'll have all the contact info on one post. And if we all select "Notify me when a reply is posted" we'll know something is going on.

Sounds like fun. Maybe in early spring.

OK Charlotte peeps. Here's the link from "General Discussions > Spider Events" http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... 16&t=21165

One more winter Fiat on the road. George Ramos convinced me......some sunny cold weather drives last week convinced me to go for at least a weekly spin. If I could afford Dean's hardtop, I would drive it even more.

Good to hear supplyguy!

How much difference does the hardtop make? Sound? Insulation?

I personally don't like the the way the Spider hardtops look. The TR6 hardtop on the other hand, is very attractive. As is the 280SL hardtop.

I'm on a mission to find one of these hard tops from Korbler in Germany. I don't know if they are still in business or if they ever shipped them to the US. They look much more like a top from a Merc 450SL rather than a bulbous helmut. I think it can also be used as a targa top with the center section removed.
