My smile is back

Post by ga.spyder »

I have had a tough couple months with my Spider. The gremlin ended up being a couple clogged injectors, caused by rusting or deteriorating hard fuel lines. It was tough to diagnose but the car is back together,I changed all fuel line from tank to rail, cold start, pressure regulator,etc.. Today a long shake down run.The car is running great.I didnt realized how much the injector/fuel issue had affected performance.I attacked some mountain roads and found that''Fiat grin'' that you get when driving these cars had returned.Made it all worthwhile!

Congrats! Nobody deserves it more, Craig! Mine has been running perfectly as well - got 2000 miles on it now, 0 issues. Even starting to look at accessories again, like a wind blocker!! Looks like we missed the Fall drive, maybe we can plan a Spring outing.

a working L-Jet system is great, I cringe when I hear stories of people removing it with a single carb :x 'because it's too complicated'.. maybe replacing for a twin carb is okay.....but no where near reliable. Turn the key and starts first go.
I had a guy drive mine the other day (who has an amazing 131 with twin IDF's) and couldn't believe how mine was smooth and easy to drive. I took his car for a spin and I can EASILY get addicted to the ork ork sound of twin carbs....yummy...maybe not the fuel economy but the sound is fantastic.
Cheers David
