1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
No dice. I went under there to clean all my relays (and one was pretty dirty). I felt the top of that hollow rectangular bar that the nuts are in. It's got walls all the way around. There are funny metal nut holders inserted into the holes. I yanked the broken one out. It's just a nut holder. Trying to figure out how to fix it....

For anyone wondering what we're talking about. Here's a pic of our problem. You can see that the right hand insert is still there (not for long) and the left hand one had be broken. I yanked it out. Pretty sure the nut is still inside the bar. Any suggestions? I think heliocoils are too small in diameter.

Image is too large to see the complete bar Jimmy. Some may be able to "control" click (on a mac) or right click to view image. I was able to see the whole image that way.

McMaster has some. Standard. Not metric. I'd really like to match the bolt size....

I hate Photobucket. After they went beta and now with their new site, nothing works right.

You can stick with the old version I think, unless they just changed that.

nutserts, available in many places. try harbor freight, i have seen them at some of their stores, i have some in my tool box, but it takes a tool to insert them , kinda like a rivet gun. i belive the ones you are looking for are 6 x 1.00 i have not been under the dash in some time

BEEK. The word NUTSERT has brought up piles of Google options. THANK YOU. Luckily they were all appropriate. The hunt begins.
Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
Still having start problems. I posted it in my "car won't start" thread by no one responds to that like they do here.
I warmed her up and shut her off earlier. Then I tried to start her around 2pm and she started then stalled. Then would just turn over. So, I kept trying to start her. No dice. 1hr 15m after the problem first occured, she started right up. It must be one of the head sensors. Suggestions?

Re: 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 - What am I doing!? LOL!!
Today I decided to test my theory. Started up the car just like yesterday. Let it warm up. Fan was going. Turned off the car and tried to start it. She didn't want to start. I unplugged the cold start wires and after a few turn overs she started up. Soooo... now I just need to read my Artigue again and see why that's happening and what I need to replace...

On the cold start injector?
I had a bad temperature control sensor connector that threw me for a loop. It's been running great since I replaced it.
Yes, Brad's FI tune up guide is good.

I also have another PDF file on FI maintenance and troubleshooting (Bosch L-jetronic Fuel Injection Troubleshooting, Maintenance & Repair Master.pdf) PM me if you want me to send it.
