performance exhaust

Post by calebw »

i was lookin around for some performance systems and international auto parts has one for 289.00 and i was wondering if anyone has it and knows how it performs compared to stock and if anyone knows of a better exhaust system that is also affordable.

We checked out the 'pictures from Mark' on the shutterflypage-
NICE!
So Shiny!
Does the page have sound?!
Oh yeah, adding it to the 'wants' list!
I'm almost tempted to go outside and kick off what's left of the current exhaust-
that way, it could go onto the 'needs' list!

Its good to know that they dont really fit well, but does anyone known of other places to get one. I would get marks but that price plus shipping across america i couldent afford easily. my max is about 300 or 350

in that price range you're probably best to get an oem 4-2-1 manifold and down pipe. Then use 2" pipe back to a free flow muffler.
It's about impossible to even replace all of the tubing and muffler for that amount,

ahh... performance on a budget, 'eh? good luck with that.

a 4-2-1 will do you just fine.

I have a 4-2-1 pipe that I just removed, the studs broke off, but I could fix it if I was motivated... :P And not with shifter knobs, I have a no wood Spider

dave, do you still have the 4-2 exhaust manifold?

I have the 2-1 down pipe but no manifold.

Maybe we should combine our parts and sell 'em off as a set !!

Mike, if you and Dave seriously each have a part for a whole 4-2-1, then I might have to offer you something for them. Not what you'd get from anyone else (I'm a cheap bastard) but the offer is there. let me know sometime....

I'd be willing to trade some parts off a parts car.

1974 1800 engine.

i have the 2-1 down pipe.

i do not know if this will work for you Danno, cuz this pipe travels to the center of the car (drive shaft) and not over to the side like the catalytic converter systems need.

It's up to you. I say $10 plus shipping.

mike, I have no idea what you are talking about? does this make a difference If I deleted my cat back and am starting fresh? I'll revisit this later, it's late and I'm tired (oh crap, i just looked at the time, it's 8:36, when did that get late? I'm getting old)

Yeah ive been reading about these 4-2-1 pipes and the others similar too it, and ive decided almost all of them are crap and shouldent even have been made. I'd sooner wait and save up for marks. Maybe in a couple years since im really really cheap and if i buy something that cost alot might as well go with quality and not price.
