gear ratio

i have a 1979 carbbed spider and i am buying a 1981 FI spider parts car. i was wondering if the 1981 rear-end was geared better than the 1979 or if there was any other reason to make it beneficial to swap it into my 1979

I believe they are the same if trany was a 5 speed. The auto trans. cars rear end was a bit different.

I believe this to be the case as well, they should be 3.9 if a 5 speed
