13 Digit VIN Numbers?

hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone knows of a website that can give us a CarFax type report but for 13 digit VINs?

most sites i have found are all for 17 digits post 1981
i know the cars a 76 but was just curious about getting a report.

i have never found a site that will give a carfax type of report prior to 81.... with some searching you might be able to find a vin decoder that will tell you things about the car... but specific details about the history i am afraid will remain a mystery unless you are buying from original owner and even then it is sorta a trust issue... you trust what they are telling you to be true or you dont..... is it something you are thinking about purchasing or allready purchased and just curious.... if you are thinking of purchasing others far more knowing than me can tell you what to look for and what to avoid..... sorry ... that is not much help

I actually found some info on mine by putting my VIN into Google Carfax's are pretty useless IMHO. I am a big believer in receipts, garage info , etc. At the end of the day the car will be what the car will be. I know that if I ever sell my car the next owner will need my project book to know all that has been done. A word of caution: unless it is reported, you may never know the true history of any car.

thanks guys for the responses, there's no reason for it really, i was just bored and was curious, thought it'd be pretty neat if i could find anything about it, seeing how the car is almost "done" hopefully for summer.
i'll try punching it into google though.
