Hmmmm.....took the car on a 10 mile ride with 2 fuel injector style hose clamps on the return line restricting, but not stopping fuel return. Car ran like a champ...had it up to 60 with starts and hard starts.
Does this info help to diagnose? Its parked in my work parking lot waiting for 5pm when I can go for a spin again.
Just a little problem
Re: Just a little problem
Well....with the fuel injection clamps slightly reducing the diameter of the return fuel line, the car runs perfectly. Went on a 40 mile run with no issue's.......GO FIGURE!

That fix is known as the 'Hillbilly Regulator' I drove a180 mile round trip to Atlanta with the device attached.Maybe I shoulda' patented it? Hmmmmmmmm
What is this telling you Robert? It sounds like your issue is very similar to my dilemna. When I read your first post on this I was having a flashback!Mine behaved the same way,not being able to accelerate past 4K.It was like the throttle wasnt opening up.It was.I hope to find time to get the injector rail on correctly in the next couple days, and see if that has corrected mine.

Re: Just a little problem
Mine was definitely a fuel pressure problem. I still have the pressure gauge attached to the CS hose. With the return line slightly clamped, the pressure no longer goes below 30 psi.

Re: Just a little problem
divers, i have a few used regulators, you may have one. try it and see if it fixes your problem. if it does not, i suspect the pump. it may make the pressure, but it seems as if it cant keep up with the volume. you are forcing the volume/pressure by clamping the return, if the regulator is not bad. just a thought

Thanks Randy...might take you up on that. I am saving my coins for a new fuel pump! The clamps are just a temp remedy.

Mark,
I am just going to spend the coins for a Bosch pump. Even if the volume was good. ALL the fuel lines are new so I was just goi g to bite the bullet for a Bosch since I seem to want to stomp the pedal to the floor alot!
