New Dart

Post by spyder82 »

Hey all. I really like the looks of the new Dodge Dart. Do you thing we can ditch the Dodge logos and get it badged in Fiat? The new 500 doesn't apeal to me at all. looks to much like a VW. Besides do you really want a Fiat associated with GM and the bail out? you'r toughts

The Dart certainly is more attractive than the new FIAT 500. Pardon to the purists, but I have never seen a FIAT design, other than their sports cars, that I liked. I even think the 124 coupe is ho hum. How bout any year Multipla? Uggh. Nearly competes with Citroen's twisted metal.

Did you mean Chrysler or am I not getting it?

I saw my first Dart in person. It was bigger than I expected. It looked very "Dodge" to me.

Re: associating the Dodge Dart with GM........don't sweat that one because Dodge is a Chrysler brand not a GM brand.

When Fiat entered into the agreement to take over Chrysler, they did so awaiting the bailout money to be guaranteed. Sergio Marchionne is one smart dude. Any time you hear that the administration saved Chrysler, don't believe it. Chrysler and GM still filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy despite the "stimulus" money. The reality is that Fiat saved Chrysler not the current administration.

The current administration said for the longest time that they saved GM and Chrysler. They have no dropped the reference to Chrysler if you listen to the rhetoric.

Why would you badge it Fiat when it's more an Alfa Romeo?

got to agree on this one, but I have driven one and they are fantastic, really practical and the turbo diesel goes really well. I would want one just for the fact it is SOoooo ugly and it would be the only one here in Oz so I can add that 'RARE' tag that's get thrown around all to often....

oh, cause the badge is what dictates who services them? Well, I need to go change the Dodge badge on my truck to Kia so i can take both my cars to the same stealership.

It is just that there aren't any Alfa dealers around, so their branding would be really difficult. It would look like a sideline car in the dealer's showrooms, which was one of the problems FIAT faced in the first place all those decades ago.

It might be Alfa underneath, but it sure looks like a Dodge.
