Hi All -
So, I've finally started getting to grips with my 'project' (read 'basket case') and having worked out that there's not that much bondo holding the bodywork together (the PO preferring Duct Tape as a rust covering device), the paintwork is generally decent beneath the grime and following some liberal application of rubbing compound (although the PO did decide that Truck Bed Lining was the optimum covering for the hood), the shock towers are in decent condition (gasp!) and the majority of rust underneath is very superficial!
The interior however, is a different story. So, having sourced most of the pieces I'm going to need, decided to remove the rear 'seat' and insert a luggage box - I'm now considering what to do about the seats.
The frame of both seats are, unfortunately, beyond repair - and finding replacements appears to be like finding that proverbial needles in a junkyard haystack.
Does anyone know where I can source new / good condition used / alternates that fit well? I'm happy for either the entire seat or simply the frame.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Andy
ps. Photos will appear when I've got some "afters" that I can be proud of!

Re: Replacement Seats
Ive come across three spiders at local pick & pulls in the past 6 months or so. They definitely are still turning up at the scrappers. Also there are always several "parts cars" on Craigslist at any given time.
Best of luck!

Re: Replacement Seats
Hello,
being myself in the quest of replacement seats, I can tell you there are more opportunities in the USA than there are in Europe.
Mazda Mx5 seems to be the most used, but you will find many spiders seats all over the country.
We have in Europe more choice in replacement seats from small cars (Opel Kadett, Fiat Coupe), difficult to source in the us.
I wonder if VW golf seats would not fit (not too wide) but there will be some adjustments to be done.
good luck !

Re: Replacement Seats
You could give Danny at Fun Imported a call. He has great prices and from what I've seen ofhis warehouse, he probably has a entire interior for your car.

Re: Replacement Seats
Early Honda CRX seats will bolt right onto the Fiat seat rails (although CRXs are getting less common as well). If you want to spend more money, the Procar Rally Seats here http://www.procarbyscat.com/Products_Rally.asp look really nice and I've heard they bolt right up also (someone with more experience will hopefully confirm this). I'm planning on the Rally seats when I have the funds. I've got CRX seats in mine now and they sit nice and low and are more comfortable than the stock seats. They don't quite look period though.
