Our Lemons in car''crash'' video

Post by ga.spyder »

We had a few spins and a collision in our last race .The video is in.I am the first driver in the black helmet.Watch me pull away from the other Spider, before a snap spin in turn 1.It was like the car had a mind of its own.We had a serious alignment issue. After these Sat. incedents,we watched a you tube video on aligning a car using string and pencils!! We also used a plumb-bob app on a guys Iphone :o The car was 100% better.Listen for the sound of dual IDFS popping, snorting, and allowing only 5500 rpm.

Funny,I thought I had hit oil because it spun so fast. Our front end was supposed to have been aligned after a complete rebuild. It wasnt! Someone dropped the ball on that. The drivers tire was 1/2 degree positive camber, the pass side was like 2 1/2 negative!! The toe was out a mile.It was a freakin' handful.Ater our late night alignment,it was good the next day.No spins.
We never got the carbs right.I think we got dirt and oil in them I did my best to clean them, but we never had them right.Coming out of slow turns, you actually had to get into 3rd and let off the gas to get it to accelerate. It sucks to set up and out brake someone, just to see them blow by you coming out!

Looks like fun but to many clothes for me. How long do you drive before relief? How many drivers?

We have 4 or 5 drivers for each race.We usually do 1 or 1 1/2 hour stints. The firesuit, helmet gloves, neck protector, and arm restraint are cumbersome and hot.Throw in 5 point harness cinched to where you cannot move and its a little claustrophobic. But once the car is moving,I never even know its on. The worse part is all re fueling must be done in full nomex incl. helmet. So usually you dont get out of your suit after your drive is over.

What is the title of your U tube video. I would love to watch it but U Tube gets tossed into those "Porn" type of sites on this computer. I tried to watch on my phone by typing in Fart Lemons. I got the video of the motor running on the crates and a lot of stuff that did not resemble a fiat.
