Signing Off......

Post by majicwrench »

What a summer. Fiat has been almost daily driver, taken some trips, weather been stunning. Never have enjoyed Fiat more. Been noticing however that my posts here are getting grouchier, am having a bit of an attitude issue. More frustrating than fun. So, I'm taking a sabatical. Might be gone a month, might be next spring when the Spider rolls out of her hiding place for another year of adventures. Gonna miss you guys. Take care.

Kieth, I think its called middle age. Women have menopause, men have womenopause :P I know because I have been an absolut grump for the past two months. Don't know why, but just am. Everything pisses me off, but of course you cannot express that too much at work, so where does the steam blow, at home of course. Wife told me I need to spend some quality time alone for myself because I have too many things to manage and no hope on the horzon of being able to let any of them go. Thats why I'm ditching one of the spider projects. Could I save it, sure, but it would have more welds than I have wrinkles. I'm also frustrated that I dont to get to spend much time in the garage to work on the cars, the garage leaks (needs a new roof), the house need painting, and the list goes on... errrrrrrrrrrr  Cannot remember when I have truely had any time off (day(s)) in the past year between traveling for work or the Navy reserves or managing a trust or a family LLC or helping No 1 son with his projects and job hunt (He wants to restore a corvair - couldnt talk him into a spider ( yours specifically))...... aaah I'm ranting again..... but you get the point. Enjoy the time off

I have noticed very distinctly the past few months, in my business and elsewhere, a terrible feeling of fear and even dread over the future state of our country, and our economy, and our leaders. I pray we work through these differences and get back on track. It is really starting to get to just about everyone. So take a break if needed, after all, we do this for fun and enjoyment! There isn't any prewritten script. :) But I am sorry to see you go, even if temporarily. I have learned a lot from your posts and am quite appreciative of your contributions. :|

Majic.... I'll miss ya dood.
I hear what everyone is saying. Some of you may remember that in January this year, I decided to liquidate ALL of my Fiat stuff. And it was for some of these same reasonings. I had too much on my plate, and saw no hope of every un-burying myself. I have another car I wanted to get to, so I decided to end the love affair with Fiats. Of course, I couldn't.... I needed to keep one, and thus began "project creep"... but I digress.
The point is that I feel yer frustration. I'm sometimes a grouchy sum-B too. Steppin' back is smart when I'm like that.

soooooo see ya again sometime? maybe?

WOW
i'm fifty with a nine year old daughter (i had to wait till i could afford to have her)
and i am feeling the same way as all of you guys! and the cold hasn't even gotten here yet. a lot of it has to do with it being an election year. subconsciously we are listening to all the negative campaign bulls**t from both sides and the overwhelming doom and gloom sinks in. try this. avoid the news shows and papers for one week, call your kids and or grand kids and talk about the old times and not current events. dig out the old photo albums with pictures of you and the little woman sitting on the hood of the car you owned in your 20's. then go out and find you a war vet (of any age) and shake his or her hand and thank them for their sacrifice! doing this will re-adjust your inner self and set you back on course!!!
