Does This Count As a Repair?

Post by supplyguy »

Sunday morning drive and my gas gauge mysteriously started to work. Can I count this as a repair and retire to the recliner for the rest of the day watching football, to celebrate my accomplishment? Wife thinks not but I am a bit exhausted by it all. Not sure I can mow the lawn safely in this state.

Did you tap it with your finger? If so, it was a repair. If not, then it was simply luck.

Isnt it a matter of simply pulling the old unit out the top of the tank and replacing it. One of the easier fixes on the car.

Don't Smoke, and Disconnect the Battery! This may sound obvious, but man things can easily go wrong sometimes.

I hear you on the don't smoke but i just changed mine and never thought about the battery. Guess I got lucky this time :o
Ran her through a couple of tanks now and it is so cool to watch the gauge actually work. Small things amuse small minds I guess but I just get real satisfaction out of everything I fix on the spider!

New tank and sender. On the rare occasions the gauge works, it lasts until I fill up again - then stuck on full.
