Under-dash Panel
Looks like when the interior was redone the owner didn't replace a panel under the dash on the passenger side. Presently, it's all open with carpet and pad showing.
Can anyone give me an actual name for this part?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Could you post a pic? And what year is the car? That will help a bunch.

That was my first guess until I reread that it was in the passenger compartment.

Re: Under-dash Panel
well, as far as I know, the console that holds the cig lighter, radio, etc etc, IS IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT!
But it sounds to me like he's describing the kick panel on the right side of the car.
but pics would be worth a thousand words right now.

Kick panel on passenger side inside passenger compartment. That's my take.

Re: Under-dash Panel

I don't know how that panel being absent would result in carpet and pad now improperly showing......divace73 wrote:what about that panel that the all the relays and stuff is on?? Re: Under-dash Panel
That's what mine looks like, can you see it without sticking your head under the dash?

Re: Under-dash Panel
There should be a metal tab that holds the underlayment/insulation up in position. That carpet appears non original and looks to be cut short. The metal panel screwed up under the dash is original, it houses relays and switches, however it does appear to be bent. The black plastic box in the right of the picture is the windshield delay switch and should be attached to the metal panel.
