Step 1: Sand it. play with bondo if desired. sand some more.
Step 2: Spray it with flat black because you thought that would be a good idea. Use 98cent cans of the stuff.
Step 3: Decide that it won't work like that. Sand using finer sandpaper. Buy Rustoelum (or generic brand) Satin Black enamel paint and some foam brushes
Step 4: Put a few coats of that on there and then take pictures that don't show any of the 60 grit sand marks in paint.
Step 5: tape off tires and center cap and use cheapo gloss red on wheels.
Really, it's not done yet, I have to molest the whole passenger side. But the basic idea here is that I'll look OK going down the road. No close inspections at 55 or whatever 40 over the speed limit is...
Abomination. But I really don't care.

Step 6: never move lawn mower
Step 7: move bondo spade slightly to make sure people are paying attention
It is all in the eye of the beholder.

That's no garden spade. That's what one uses to dip into the gallon of bondo. You can't see the 2x4 that you mix the bondo on, but it's there somewhere.
No comment on the stupid push mower that died recently. it's been a dry summer so i just said screw it and the couple of times it was needed I hit what I needed with the stihl trimmer. (I do most of the mowing with the rider)

More to come as I finish it up. I still have the rear end (Trunk lid is done), the passenger side isn't done, and then I have three more wheels to do.majicwrench wrote:I love it, MORE PICTURES!!
Should have a new fuel filler hose in the next couple of days, so that I can drive it again, then I'll take the pictures somewhere where I can stand further away from the car than 5 ft.

I dig it, better than crushing or letting it rust. Now all you need to do is slam it and put a loud pipe on it

I already gots the "loud" taken care of.
Anyway, it's almost done, but I had to fix a cracked fuel filler hose. In removing that panel i let my frustrations get the better of me and broke the tab that holds it on near the upper seam. Now I have to find a way to reattach it, maybe a screw on the wheel well lip.
I'm just an hour or two away from the body work being done (for now) so i can put the taillights back on and drive it.
