Just pulled onto Folsom Blvd from 50 at 9'45am and had the differenfial start making a terrible clunking sound once every revolution. Sorry I couldnt make it.

Yup, you nailed it.
I lost a tooth and a half off the pinion gear. Already up and running.
Last time I had this kind of noise from the rear axle, it was because one of the bolts that secures the ring gear to the carrier was backing out and clipping the inner bearing cap. looks like I made the right call to stop driving it, even if I was only three miles from the show.

It sure would have been nice to see you, but it makes more sense to take care of these things immediately before causing greater damage. Hope the repairs go well.
