Inspired by rontron2012' "TIPS" concept, I thought it might also be good to have a "SPECS" (specification) page or category where you could easily find specifications for various parts for our cars.
For instance what are the sizes for the vacuum lines in our car; gas line sizes and type for both FI and Carb cars; bolt, allen, and nut sizes; etc. We could start a post where people ask what spec is needed, people answer, then we make a chart (maybe a downloadable PDF) that has all of the info easily accessible in one document.
I'd be willing to compile and create the PDF.
What do you all think?

Re: SPECS
Excellent idea, but will probably turn out to be time consumming? Like Wiki, the issue will be accuracy and trustworthiness.

Re: SPECS
The Wiki format sounds like a good idea RRoller123. I've never started a Wiki page, but there's always the first time.
Since I'd like to replace all my hoses and lines, would anyone like to start contributing? Diameter, material type, and lengths.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Vacuum hoses:
Fuel hoses:
Brake hoses:
BRAKE SYSTEM

Metal lines:
We can start here, then add as needed.
Thanks!

Re: SPECS
This is a great idea. In fact, I was searching for just this kind of thread yesterday.
I think any specs should make sure they reference the year as well.
For example, I think the big bumpers were pretty much the same across the years, but I pulled the front bumper off an '82 this evening and these are the sockets I used:
'82 2000 Spider - Front Bumper
Bumper Shock Bolt - 22mm
Bumper Shock Mounting Bracket - 17mm (3 bolts)
Bumper Bushing Bracker - 13mm (2 nuts)
Update (9/16/12) pulled more parts and learned the following:
Front Sway Bar - 13mm nuts (8 of 'em)
Windshield bolts - 8mm Hex/17mm socket on back of lower ones
Doors - retainers are 10mm (2x/retainer), hinges are 13mm bolts (3 per hinge)
Fuel Tank Mounting - four 13mm nuts
Taillight assemblies - four 8mm nuts on each

Re: SPECS
Thanks. I agree with you Ben, but we haven't had much activity.
Someone mentioned starting a Wikipedia page on it, which may be the way to go and may attract Spider owners from other groups.
