I had to do it!

I pulled up next to an MG at a traffic light and yelled to the driver, "Hey what year is your Fiat!"

It was funny to watch him try to explain as the light changed.

i had somebody ask me if my Fiat was a "kit car" i drove away pondering how much truth there is to that. we seem to build them as a kit from many scattered pieces

Nice! My Fiat has not left my garage in over a year and I still get neighbors asking if it is an MG! Nice to finally see someone turning things around :)

Hi,

I can't remember where I read it, perhaps a Hemming's Sport & Exotic, but: 'no one knows what a FIAT is - they've never seen one - but they've seen an MG on fire.

Ciao,
Mark

Can't share that story but I did pull up to an MG at a light about a month ago. As the guy was checking out my car I smiled and said in a loud voice. "You know, those little MG's could never keep up with an Italian car from the same era." When the light changed I took off in a dart and could hardly see the little green MG in the rear view. I know... what a smuck move! But I felt 16 again and in some way pleased for all the "What year is that MG comments" over the years.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

LOL That happened to me (I didn't enter) when some judge came up and started going over my car while I was parked off to the side. He went on & on then asked me what I planned to do with my Triumph Spitfire. It was at this point I slowly pointed to the FIAT on the steering wheel then laughed and walked away.
