Things are looking up! Looks like a new fuel pump will solve the problem. Turns over like a champ. Just needs some fuel. Body and paint guy called with a very reasonable price. If we can get it to run we will strip everything off of it and send it to the body shop. Hey Eric, want to drive it to PA? :D George

The fuel lines need to be replaced. I hooked up an electric fuel pump and it started and ran. Sounded good but the hoses were leaking fuel so we shut it down after a few minutes. The previous owner told me it ran well so I guess he was right. I'll stop and grab some fuel hose on the way home from work and hook everything up. If all goes well I might have to take it for a ride in the driveway

Trust me this is another stray puppy George thinks he's going to rescue. The floors, trunk and bottom rails are sound. Every thing above the floors is swiss cheese. Crazy Dave in PA says he'll fix it up for cheap. There's not enough rusty metal left on the cowl to attach the bondo.

Not to mention tires, top & interior.

The most valuable part of this jalopy is the 78 cents we found under the passenger seat.

Well the 80 runs. Has all the usual smog clutter on the engine. Have to get ride of all that stuff. I'm going to start stripping things off of it and get it ready for paint. I'll take some pics tomorrow and get them posted. This should be a real adventure.

See your power was restored. When it's painted and ready to go you can be the first to drive it! Ralphs coming over this week to give me a hand. You can stop by, but no complaining will be tolerated!!!!!!
Let me know. I can throw a couple burgers on the grill. George

Well the 1980 ran and was taken for a test drive. It was deemed to have too much rust and two many holes to be saved. Another Spider destined for the crusher. Plenty of good usable parts if you need anything
