REFERRING to my 79,that i bought from a guy in California
OMG,
\ i was swapping out the sway bar in front,only because the 1" bar he had in front does not fit proper, so anyways back to the original sway bar. so as i was saying .
as i was doing that i removed the front tire on the passenger side, as i was taking the tire off ,it seem to move alot. so i thought wth, anyways as i was looking the bottom ball joint was not even seated up in the socket, here he had uses a pliers or some sharp object on the shiny smooth stem. hell it was so marked up there no wonder why it would not seat. so i took off the control arm,time to replace the whole arm. only because the small bracket that holds the sway bar bracket was busted off and just had bolts thru there,

Jim, is this the same car you were stretching out on the freeway last month? I have learned the hard way to check used cars well beforehand . It's good you didn't learn of the ball joint the hard way.

Had my car into G&S for a clutch replacement and the super mechanic found the PO had an upper ball joint in the lower arm, or a lower in the upper I don't remember....but it sounded wrong and he fixed it. Amused and pleased he found it.....I do know ball joints are not in close proximity to the clutch! Love that man.

yes it that same car , running at 100 on the free way. u are so right ,check the car over good before doing a test run
