i have some mirrors, and i see the metal aftermarket ones have the wires attached to the back of the mirror itself

that may be a compass
give it 12 volts see what happens
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Yes Jim , joe was making a funny, but if the are electrical wires give em 12 volts and see.
