Current vehicles in the fleet.
2009 Volvo S-80 T6 AWD Turbo
2004 Volvo S-80
2000 Volvo S-70
2000 Volvo S-70 Notice a trend here
1990 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup
1982 Fiat Spider Automatic
1976 Fiat Spider
The Volvos are the daily drivers. The 1990 is the chore truck and the spiders are the weekend drivers. It's a crowded driveway here

Just added a 2000 Toyota Echo to the brood. My Mother in Law stopped driving recently. What a quirky little thing, great mileage and only 45K on the ODO.

agreed. I had a '77 Rallye edition (imported from Canada) that was just cool. they'd go anywhere, had awesome flex through the frame which aided articulation. they lend themselves well to modifications, but are stout just as they were built. That 345 may be the beefiest-built motor I've ever been into.81SPIDERMATT wrote:they seem to be as addictive as the spidersmaytag wrote:81SPIDERMATT wrote:just one..... 1976 international scout II

My other cars... hmmm.
Well, the first is a 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport (TJ) Actually the same basic color scheme as the spider. Gotta love an off-road convertible!
It doesn't get quite as good of gas mileage as my "other" car...
This is a car that I built with SAE at my school. 842 MPG. On gasoline! Lots of fun.
Forgive the self-promotion, but check us out!

i am just about to find out... got 2 345s in the garage and getting ready to tear into them and get one good one out of them
they are tanks though.... pull your house off the foundation while climbing a wall

Re: Your other car(s)
I remember once putting a rod through the block, and driving it 75 miles out of the back country I was in with that rod clankin' around in there........ crazy unbreakable.81SPIDERMATT wrote: i am just about to find out... got 2 345s in the garage and getting ready to tear into them and get one good one out of them

the only real weak spot I ever discovered (besides body-rust) was the front-attachment of the front leaf-springs. the way they're connected via that 1/4" x 3"-ish plate is an odd sort of setup. I understand the theory behind what they were trying to do..... but I question it's efficacy. Especially while invading foreign countries! (o, wait... sorry... wrong thread!)

Re: Your other car(s)
I`m surprised at the age of most of these `other ` cars. Nothing wrong with any of them, just surprised that most of the daily runners are a few years old.
Mine:-
2012 F150
2012 Hyundai Accent
1979 Fiat Spider
1980 Kawasaki KZ650

My two cents ain't worth what it used to be
Re: Your other car(s)
Simple stuff in my driveway, garage and back yard:
The daily drivers:
2005 Dodge Magnum basically stock except for a full set of Wilwood brakes.
2005 Volkswagen Passat wagon. AWD ; a great car for the winter.
1979 Fiat Spider; 26k miles, totally refurbrished."The weekender"
1974 Fiat 128 Sedan; current project.....running, still need it to be "driveable"
Parted out:
1975 Fiat Spider
1978 Fiat Spider
Gone bye- bye: 1967 MGB/GT
Check out "Rapid Air" distribution system for the garage air compressor.
