How can I tell what my car was originally ? The VIN # ?

I don't know if this is original, but mine has a stickier on the underside of the trunk lid that gives mfg and code for the paint used.

Depends on the year.

Early cars will have a riveted badge in the engine compartment and it will have the paint code on there. Later cars had a sticker in the trunk.

It is not encoded in the VIN.
