Since I last posted, There is a bit more welding than first thought. The floor on the drivers side is not rotten, but the reinforcing member that runs lengh ways has been damaged. I will remove this and fabricate a new one. The passenger floor is pretty shot, so needs replacing, especially as the rot extends to the gearbox mount. generally though she's not too bad. What I have decided to do is convert to rack and pinion steering. The simplest way ( I think!!) is to use a Mk2 Ford escort RHD quick rack, and turn it upside down so it works the correct way with LHD. At 2.4 turns lock to lock its pretty quick too. When the parts arrive, I'll do a separate post. Hopefully it will work out well, the parts I'm using are very available here in the UK and are well priced too. heres a couple more of the body.
