Gran Turismo 5 - Unlocking a Spider

Post by jimmycakes401 »

Just saw that the Fiat Spider is on the car list for this game. A friend just let me borrow it and now I must go on a quest for the spiders. Wish me luck. If you know how to do it, let me know. :D

I take it you got them by now?

I recently mentioned to an acquaintance that i had bought a spider, my gf has a new 500 so i made it clear that it was a different kind of fiat. (most people, even my car oriented brothers think 500 when i say fiat)

He said oh yeah i know what it is, its on gran turismo...

In my head i said "dang i shouldnt have sold that ps3 and gave that game away".

Forza is still better ;) i just wish it had spiders

I own over 1000 cars in GT5 and have been playing for a LONG time. Never seen a spider and I have at least one of every small sports car(I have seen). There is a alfa spider and a few British cars but as far as I know no fiat spiders.

Man, I spent so much gran turismo $ fixing up the stupid 500. It's not worth it - it's still slow :?

I think GT4 on the PS2.

I have to get with my son. He has one of these games and used it to drop an LS engine with many other upgrade in .... wait for it....

A Gremlin - Orange with the black stripe.

Actually a pretty cool idea if it can be done in the real world. Imagine popping the hood on that at a show. Or slowly pulling up to the line at a local raceway. Stock exterior and interior with everything undernear modified from the engine through the rear end.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

Ahhh yea he probably confused it with an alfa spider...

The engine swap must have been Forza Motorsport...unless gran turismo finally implemented engine swaps

Forza allows swaps between cars in the same family, so for example, an old camaro can get an engine from a new camaro, or a new corvette, or a nascar stock car

A ford pinto can get a ford mustang engine, a ford gt engine or a ford nascar engine

A nissan z car can get a skyline engine and so on and so on

Yea I love the alfa spider in GT5 I have 3 of them for different tasks drift, rally, and grip racing. GT never has had swaps, a lot of other games do.

Hmmm... you're making me want to play now. I have not got to a point where I can get the alpha. I was looking forward to that too. I did fully modify the Fiat 500 and it is indeed still slow as marbles.

At the local car show a few months ago, my new 500 Abarth (only Italian car there) got parked in a far, dark, corner next to a 40-50ish year ols lady's Gremlin. Her son had dropped a V8 engine in it. Stopped many people in there tracks when they were trying to figure out what looked out of place on her car.
