I flushed my old fluid today and refilled with ATE blue.Stopped to talk to the neighbor,get a drink,and it still had 15lbs of pressure.I only wish I had invented it! This is the third time I have used it and I marvel at its effectiveness every time.

I use mine regularly on my cars, but I haven't yet found a good way to connect it to my dual-reservoir spider brakes.

Maytag can you just do one res. at a time or is the problem that the cap doesnt fit? I am not familiar with the dual m/c system,but it sounds like it would be a better setup.

Curious myself since I've bled many a dual-resovoir Spiders with mine. My Motive is very old, however, and perhaps they changed the cap design?

Also you do know that FIAT had a recall campaign on those dual-reservoirs back in the day? Replaced them with single, self-leveling reservoirs.

I bought the one with "all" the adapters, and I can't find one that'll work well with the Fiat cap thread, and the dual-reservoir doesn't lend itself to the chain-sling setup.

I did not know there was a recall on the reservoirs. I actually purchased a single... and it leaked when I installed it. Made a mess of my newly painted firewall.

So I'd be open to a recommendation on which vendor sells ones that don;t leak?

I made my own power bleeder.

1 Gal. Tank Sprayer--$9.94 Lowes
Nylon Male 1/8 NPT to ¼ “ tube adapter --$1.49 Tractor Supply
¼ inch PVC clear tubing --$4.19(10 ft length) Tractor Supply
Total -- $15.62

Old Fiat brake reservoir cap with float and electrical contacts removed

Drilled through cap using drill bit that produced a tight fit for the 1/8 NPT side of the adapter, then used JB Weld to glue the adapter into the cap.




Replace wand with 1/4 inch vinyl tubing.


Does not have a pressure guage but I could add one if I need it.

You might be able to use an old brake reservoir cap like I did.

I have one and have the same issues as Maytag...does not fit snug on the single resevoir. Tried adapting a single cap but could not get a good seal but I didn't try the JB Weld... going to try that next.

Stan,that is a great idea.When I bought mine I had never really seen one up close.Like you said it would be easy to add a pressure guage,just to make sure you had a tight seal.Nice work.

I took a factory Fiat cap, drilled a hole in it and took car tire valve stem, removed the Schrader valve and poked it through the hole. The hose is then clamped to the threaded portion of the stem. Works great at sealing the cap against the pressure.

One caveat, keep the pressure down. You only need a few pounds of pressure to make this work, you don't want to explode your reservoir.

Also got a homemade unit. I never fill it up with fluid though, too messy. Just make sure the resivior is full and use the air pressure. If you are having trouble getting a good seal at the cap to resivior, you need to find or make a rubber gasket for the cap. I think around 10-15 psi is the max you want to go, or you risk damaging the master cylinder seals.

I use an Actron brake bleeding kit for one-person bleeding. The reservoir is large enough for my motorcycle brakes, but you need to make a bigger one for cars - easy.

BTW 15psi is entirely too high for bleeding the system, you could blow a MC seal out at those pressures. 5-7psi is all you need.
