I would offer you some cheese to go with your whine but sadly I think it would likely melt or at the very least be rather gooey.

Perhaps a good hard cheese like Extra Sharp Cheddar? :D

Hot indeed. We'll give you a pass

You're the reason I haven't chimed in on the temperature over here. I thought our measly 109 was too piddling next to your temps.

I've spent the past few days in Oregon - Eugene, Corvallis, Salem area - temperatures in the mid - high 90's. This is supposed to be part of the Pacific Northwest for crying out loud. I'm Canadian - we like it cool!! Thank goodness we've got air con in the truck and RV!!!
I do pity you poor Arizonians and Californians, though...

I usually laugh when people complain about the heat here in South Florida, granted it may be around 90's or so but that's no where near 120 dry heat or not. I'll take my summer heat over most other places and I never have to put the Spider up for the "Season".

Global Whining, I mean warming? So when the media states that it's the hotest summer in 30, 40 or 50 years or whatever sudo factoid they want to throw out there what caused it to be so hot back then? So suddenly when the cycle repeats itself it's man made Global Warning? When I was in High School I was told we were headed for another ice age? So which is it Ice or melted Ice?

Fact: We've been in global warming since the last great ice age. Fact: The ice age followed a period of global warming when the planet was mostly tropical. Weather changes are normal for this old planet. We're just in a roasty-toasty period. I'd imagine if we could go backwards in time prior there would have been a prior iceage as well.

While I wait for the next iceage, I'll sit in my cool house and avoid the 104 degree heat outside.

Talking about the correlation between the rise in air/ocean temps since the industrial revolution. It's peer reviewed science NOT "media sudo factoids"! Open a book/read a scientific journal/turn off Fox News!

This isn't FoxNews or CNN propaganda. This chart is derived from data from the Vostok Ice Core. Global temperatures have risen since the last ice age. Temperatures have risen during the industrial age. CO2 levels have a direct correlation to temperature change, but these changes WAY precede the modern industrial period.

There is scientific evidence on both sides of global warming. The politics of it is really the problem. Get the politics out of the way and let real science stand the test of time.

Want to increase oxygen levels and decrease carbon dioxide? Plant native trees, lots and lots of trees. They consume CO2 and output oxygen.

And the last 62 years? But I agree with the need to separate the politics from the science.

Surfingfreeman, So I am now a mindless Fox News junkie that can not comprehend science? Wow! I will not take offense to your blanket assumption of my lack of reading or where I choose to get my information because you are clearly passionate about the subject, own a Spider and from your login name a surfer like myself. But maybe your chosen name refers to Web surfing I don't know? Anyways, being in a family of a long line of engineering, scientific and archaeological members you may be surprised to know I actually enjoy science, most of all weather.

My point was made by someone else already. There is a cycle to the weather both short term and long term. Something had to happen between each ice age or there wouldn't be any between ice ages right? Now if the current group of Global Warming Theorists did not appear to be so political they might actually get some more traction. I also feel as humans we are a bit arrogant at thinking we are making massive changes to this planet in such a short blip in it's history. As much as I would like to see pollution stopped and alternative energy actually pursued in a way that can work I too am sick of it used as a political chess piece to try and get votes. It has been my experience that when a Global Warming theorist is challenged by anyone that person is immediately demonized and said not to care about the planet and or pollution and can not read or has diminished mental capacity in some way. However I have yet to find those that laugh at the thought of man made Global Warming also to say we do not have to cut back on pollution or waste. It actually is possible to have a different scientific theory and still want to keep the same planet as clean and healthy as possible. Even though there are vast differences in opinions and theories on Global warming I have found that everyone wants to limit the impact humans have on the planet yet there is so much anger and hatred that comes from Global Warming Theorists? Don't you think that if there was a bit more civility you may find more open ears? Of course that is just my theory.

So Surfingfreeman I will continue to enjoy the heat of South Florida and love you as another brother on the planet and appreciate your passion for Fiats and our planet. I will be surfing this afternoon with my daughter who is top of her class in all sciences at her school.

Stay thirsty my friends,
"Man I love those commercials!"
