How To Attach Side Molding End Caps

Can someone tell me how the tips on the ends of the side molding are attached? Is any part of the tip glued to the car itself or just glued into the side molding where it slides into? Oh, and if anyone has one chisel tip end cap, or knows where I can get one, I'm missing one. Thanks

I'm guessing you are referring to the side moldings installed on the doors and fenders like the red car at the top of the page. Those were dealer installed options and can vary in their design and attachment methods. Most were secured to the sheet metal with pop rivets. The end caps slide into the channel and a pop rivet goes through both. I had a bunch from a parts car, let me check if I have some end caps left, I know I sold some parts a while ago.
