Vin tag vs engine block

Post by Weelan »

I'm looking at my engine block and trying to check the numbers vs the tag in the engine bay.

My tag says the engine model should be 132C2.040
But the engine block says it's model is 132AC.40/9

I'm not overly concerned, the engine should still be a 2L based on the 4377455 stamp on the block. Just curious.

Is this a replacement engine? If so what did it come from? Or am I just reading the numbers wrong?

132c2.040 is the engine # that will be stamped above the oil filter housing or above the drivers side motor mount on a flat pad.
132ac.40/9 is the casting number cast in the side of the block, the number you are looking for is stamped. below that number will be the block serial #
