HMMM, I wonder if you could still find one of those old fashoned, plastic cup holders that hang from the space between the window and the door. :|

Yep, you can still buy cup holders but you have to order them on the internet. I had family visit in the 70's from Italy for about 6 weeks. One of the unforgettable memories was how much these folks chain smoked. maybe it was just my family or the 70's.

I bothers me when I park my car at a show next to a nicely done muscle car with a 350 or similar and the owner assumes they I have no clue about cras because I drove up in a FIAT. Feels like FIAT discrimination!

It bothers me when people tell me that my car is unreliable. In 12 years of ownership I had one mechanical failure because I didn't replace the magnetic pickup on a 25 year old car (at the time). I wonder if they can say the same about their cookie cutter jelly bean school of design imported non-descript blob of metal?

I drove my 70 spider as a daily driver for 22 years and 295k miles. It has been an extremely reliable car. I dont fret much about people thinking they are reliable. I know this is a well kept secret amongst the clan. It like knowing the punchline of an inside joke.

I bought an 88 Chevy pickup and my 78 Spider within a year of each other. My Chevy has left me stranded 3 times my Fiat never has.

that happened to me yesterday (again). I took mine for a quick spin around the block, and when I was backing it back into the garage, a guy pulled up and asked me "what year?" I told him ' it's a '76", and he looked at me like I was stupid. So I asked him if he knew what it was.... and he said "duh, it's a corvette!"
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

A bothers me list for the Spider? Well...it bothers me when

1) people name their car
2) people remove the bumpers
3) people install a non-FIAT engine (because it never sees the road again)
4) panasports are installed
5) people two-tone the car

Oh I could go on and on. The list gets worse as I get older.

Given the large number of posts on removing them I thought I was the only one who didn't like the look of a Spider without bumpers! To me it looks like the car has a receding chin.

My joy at seeing this list is tempered, however, by the fact that I have Panasports on one of my Fiats!
