How are they removed? Is it typically push-in, adhesive, or nuts on an '82? I have two replacements coming tomorrow. I haven't looked at the hood yet, but the backside of the trunk emblem is covered with sheet metal.

There is a black plastic round plug on the underside of the hood below the emblem. Pull that and you will see the studs and two tiny nuts (5-6mm) un-do those and the emblem comes off. DON"T PRY.
The trunk is a bit different in that there are two small holes in the sheet metal that you should be able to access the studs.

Re: Removing hood and trunk emblem on '82
I found the black plastic cover on the backside of the hood emblem, and on the '82, it seems the emblems are push in. The first pic shows the hood emblem with one of the plastic clips on it. I ended up cutting through the plastic with a knife, and using a needle nose to peel it apart.
The trunk emblem looks a lot harder as there is painted sheet metal over the clips. See the second picture. This is after I bent the sheet metal out of the way. I'll work on getting that one off tomorrow.
thanks all.

How did you resolve this? I have an '81 and I'm planning on removing them soon to install a vinyl center stripe. Like my Photoshopped avatar
