Post by fiat218 »

My 79 has got stupid seat in it, I figure it was not a Biggy that I would just swap out the seats in it and put in the fiat buckets.
Wrong! the dum ass, smashed down the inside rails on the floor board, now how do I put in different seats with out all the Bs work

someone on the forum may have seat rails from a parted out car. You could swap the bent ones out.

Are you talking about the raised areas the seat rails are bolted onto? I thought you were talking about the seat rails themselves. The raised areas are spot welded in.

Bummer. That will take a bit of work. I can't imagine those being smashed down. Do you have a picture?

That's a problem you didn't need right now given the other issues. :( Other than cutting out and welding back in, I don't know of any other way to fix that problem.

The good thing is that new floor pans are not that expensive. You could probably have new ones put in for about $500.00 including labor. It's not cheap but not expensive either.

HMM, so you are going to buy a parts car and cut out the metal parts you need?? Chances are that they will be rusty. I suppose you could have some made. Or maybe you could buy new floor pans and cut out the parts you need. If it were me, I'd just put in the new floor pans. Their only about $100.00 for the set. But, hope it works out well for you whatever route you decide to take. Get those Honda seats out of there.
