Stuck Tie Rod End

Post by blurple124 »

I am rebuilding my suspension and have removed the passenger side pitman arm and tie rod end, but cannot for the life of me get the tie rod end out of the arm.
Is this a threaded connection or just a bore?
Any techniques for removal?

It is just pressed in ( kinda). Use a pickle fork to wedge in between and hammer it out. Or you can do as I did and put the nut back on and run it down flush then take a hammer and give it a few good wacks. It will break free. When you install your. Ew one, use a little anti- seize and it will help next time .

Yeah just went though this too. Pickle fork and a 5 pound hammer and some solid whacks did the trick.
